Default How many A4

Alright, I just want to know how many people are running the TH 224/224 112LSA with there A4 and if they have any problems with that set up. I see that DEEZ98Z has just put one in his A4 and has no problems so far. I have read that its better to go with the 114LSA in a A4, but if I can I would like to go with the 112LSA.

I don't have that exact cam, but mine is very similar. 228/224 .571/.568 112 LSA.

My car ran terrible without tuning, but after Speed Inc tuned it, the car idles great, and has never once ever tried to stall, even when shifting into reverse. I do have a small amount of surging between 1500-1800 RPMs when the convertor is locked up, but I am told there is not much anyone can do about that.

In all, I am pleased with it, and with a proper dynotune, a 112LSA works fine on an A4.

heck mine didnt wanna idle with the 14LSA untill i drilled the TB, turned the set screw and raised the idle with edit..

every car is different though

I've got that cam. The car was really rowdy sounding before tuning, and would NOT idle in gear. After speed inc tuning, most if the issues are resolved (and the car doesn't sound so rowdy). I still have a problem with the car dying after the first time I let off the throttle, but if I let idle for 1-2 minutes before putting it into gear, it rerely dies. It's gotta go back for some tweaking on that issue.

Wariv4 - I know some one that has his in his car and has no problems after a proper tune... that is why I went with the 112 for the lope My car still needs some tweeking but it all should be done Monday if you remind me I will let you know how things go Oh yeah... I have heard that PMAF's can cause tuning problems... so that could be part of my problem

Well I am deployd right now, you guys have no idea how much I miss my car, I am on ls1tech all the time reading up on stuff. I should be home with in a month though "I hope". Anyways my home base is Barksdale AFB, down in Shreveport, LA so I was just thinking about taking my car to thunderracing and let them do it all. Let them do the install and a tune. Well thanks for all the reply's is there anyone else with this cam. DEEZ98Z I will get back to you and see how your car turned out.

I'm running a TR230/224 cam on a 110LSA in mine and it idles like a champ. A good tuner can make a 110 and up work fine. Maybe lower if you are brave!

Like stated it will work with a good tune and idle decent. With the 112LSA you will pull your peak power curve down lower than with a 114LSA and pick up a little more lope at idle

I'm about 50 miles north of you so keep an eye out on ls1.com in the louisiana section on meeting up at the track (RRR)

Do you all use your car as a daily driver or do you park it. I will be using mine as a daily driver until I can find a POS car to drive. I do want that little more lope at idle .

i have that cam (224/.581/112) and mine idles great. i only have the idle 50 rpm over stock, and have the TB drilled out. at first before i did all of that, it wouldnt run for crap, but after, it was a bat from hell...

TR224 cam on a 112 LSA in my 2000 A4 ... I haven't had tuning yet (just my own LS1 edit work)

Cold start it's a bitch, wants to die until it's fully warmed up.

But once fully warm it idles smoothly at 650RPM

I run MTI`s X1 cam 230 227 .591 .571 112 lobe
This cam kick-***. Pulls all the way to 6500rpms. The sound is sweet. You need tuning for A4. But it is well worth the time. You can see in my sig with all I have the numbers I pulled. This is tuned safely for spray. Jayson and Crew at MTI are the best. My race weight is 3800lbs with me. I`m a hog with speed! Let me know if you want my dyno sheet. I can E-mail you it, N/a and on spray. Just let me know!

I just got my TR 224/224 114 installed. And mine is a daily driver. I just raise my idle 50 rpms. Modified my IAC's just a tad. Idles great without drilling the TB.

Idle Air Control. I modify the settings with LS1Edit to allow more air @ idle. Instead of drilling the TB.
