Default 347 or 383

I am going to be getting a new engine and can't decide which size to go with.
its going to be forged basically going to be running a head/cam and around a 150-200shot nitrous.
i dont plan on running more than like 650hp

Some people say save the money and go with 347 because the performance between the two isn't much better for the 383 forged block.

I just wanted to see what some of you think

It will be the same bore/block with a different stroke on the 383. More cubes is better IMHO, more room to grow.

1 Extra Cube For The Rehoneing Of The Bores When Referbing The Block For The Rebuilt

Id Go 383 As Its Just A Ls1 With A Longer Stroke.. The Only Downside To A Storker Is Piston Speed And The Accompaning Rpm Limitations Ut I Dont Think You Will See Any Of That At Youe Levle... For Auto X I May Stay With A 347 For The Strip More Cubes Is Better Pretty Much 100% Of The Time

i believe tsp offers a 383 package that has a better crank but also has a 408 package for same price.....unless you are doing some radical setup i am sure what the 408 has will be good enopugh

This is purely money question. Your paying for the crank. But as others have stated if your going to spend the money of a 383 then you might as well go bigger with a 402 as the money is about the same and obviosuly the 402 will be more powerful than the 383 which is more powerful than the 347

The 347 is purely from cleaning the cylinders it does not add power over the 346.

Id say def go with either a 383 or 408, the 383 can retain the aluminum block, but the 408 will either have to be an iron 6.0 block or an LS2 block, which will cost more over the 383. Id build the 383 if it were me, best bang for the buck.

i think the iron 408 is the best way to go, same price as a 383 more cubes for the same price. plus 408 just has a better sound to the name.

thanks guys for the input i hadnt even checked into the 408 but now im going to do some reading.
