I'd like the extra bling of sheetmetal.

well, since Im NA for now, and wont be sprayin any time soon, make it whichever way is cheapest, which sounds like plastic.

Plastic intakes can be a problem if you have a n2o backfire. Instead of a taco'd throttle plate you have expensive bits and pieces.

Metal wouldnt be suuuuch a big deal heat-soak wise if it could come with phenolic spacers.

chris

a burst panel would take care of that, wilson manifolds sells them, would be good for the boosted guys too.....

I say donate one of each to me for further testing. Then when I decide which one I like, I'll give you the other one back. Sound good to you?

Oh and BTW, you get NO rematch. I like the crown. LOL

also i would look into using a ford type of throttle body or even the stock ones, because spending $800 on a manifold and having to spend another $400 on a TB kind of sucks, and you will have to convert to a different type of ducting to the TB like the LT1 style elbow to use the oval shaped TB's.
accufab makes some nice peices, all new, and could probobly do a GP on them
http://www.accufabracing.com/throttl....htm#MustangTB

Or i'd give Bret at Bauer Racing a hollar, i know he has some designs using the stock TB to support bigger cubes and a aftermarket style manifold

plastic, and instead of doing a different throttle body, just make it large enough for a BBK or similar 80 mm throttle body

Is there a possibility of a plastic version tapped and ready for Direct Port Nitrous?

The torque curve looks odd; it's concave from 3500-5000 rpms and it's very spikey (too much turbulence?). Definitely beneficial for high HP motors and big cubes. Stock or near motors probably won't see hardly any gains based on the high rpm peak hp and torque.

Looks great for high HP applications. I think plastic would be best for most people.

Thanks everybody! I should have some more info soon, still in final CAD drawing and talking with the molding company.

The torque curve looks like that due to the stock manifold having the highest boost in the TQ curve in that spot, When you properly design a manifold for a specific RPM peak rang,it will alter the curve in a different area.

Like I said before, this is being listed as a RACE manifold for 6500+RPM and big motors. The throttle body choice was determined by the design of the plenum, The first version used a stock T\B and had some quirks.
