Comp 918 Blu Stripe check in..
Comp 918 users, how they holdin up? I haven't seen a breakage post as of yet, I just broke an Isky 295D this morning at low rpm's leaving a traffic light, and talk about having your heart in your throat! but I cut the engine off right when I heard the metallic ticking
. Funny cause I was just on the phone with Paul @ Thunder yesterday morning looking for a better spring for my set up, please reply with your results so far
. BIG Thanks to "Black Majic" for picking me up in his 2003 Cobra! Now I'll never hear the end of that one!
Thanks!
Joe.

Sorry to hear this Joe... I guess my staying below .600 lift has saved my CC918's.. I am lucky my heads flow below 300cfm at .600 lift... As a matter of fact they only flow 280cfm at .600 lift. Therefore no need for a cam going over .600 lift.. This is the first I have heard of Comp 931's.. When did they come out..?
I am going to try and make the trip up with Mike K.. It just depends on when he tells me he is going to Jersey..
There are people running up to .610 with the CC918's.. My highest lift is .598 on the exhaust side.. I am having no issues and I take my car up to the rev limiter from time to time..

so I guess in the future I will heed the manufactures warning

As soon as Mike lets me know.. I will know for sure if I can ride up.. Iskys are good springs, but most tuners do stay below .580 with those springs.. CC918's were recommended for my old setup. I was about to get some rev1116's for a bigger cam Futral wanted me to try, but secondary to going a new direction in the future I asked Futral for a smaller cam..
I have not had any issues with mine. I am .591 on both the intake and exhaust. I might swap my cam out now for a big split cam with over .600 lift, I am just not sure if i wanna risk it with the 918's. But so far so good

Cool Vince I'm glad your coming up with me , I can use the company, I just have to wait for my y pipe to arrive so I can finish my header install then I'll be ready to go, If nothing else I'll have my SLP Y pipe fabricated so I can go up there, I was planning for the 2nd week in July, I'll email you and Joe so we can work it out, But FWIW I do still have my 918's in on my 224 cam with no issues but then this cam is small by today's standards.
Had 918's (bad batch time)on my last Heads with stock valves and TR220,8k miles and 65 1/4 mile passes and help fine.
Now I have 918's(blue stripe) holding Ferrara 2.02/1.60's with a TR224 Cam with 2500 miles,25 1/4 mile passes and frequent 6600rpm shifts with no problems.

Hey Vince can you pm me your cell number, I just looked at the calender and we can go from the 6th of July and be back on the 11th if this works out on JPR's schedule, I'll call you to discuss.
That sucks Joe, you were just telling me the other day the springs were probably ready to be replaced! Maybe check into the setup LG motorsports has been using with their G5X2...no head modification needed to use their doubles (I know there's a few options for that). .
i thought the 918s had slime green stripe which ones have the green stripe
my srings are doing good with a

Hey Stevie,
I know that's what they say about the .600 rating, but Paul @ TR told me that there more like .580 in change to be on the safe side and thats about where I'm runnin them. I knew they needed to be replaced soon because they have been on 3-4 of my different combos recently and I haven't treated them nicely

I probably have 16 or 17000 miles and 13 months on my 918's. It is only with a little T1 cam though. .559 lift. Don't know what color stripe it is or if they even have a stripe. MTI installed them.
