Default A4 Dyno numbers

Ok, I dyno'd my new car today, 2002 A4, SS convertible.
Not sure how i feel about the numbers how do they compare?
Base Lined at 290/320 stock 4/21/2003

After mods 6/21/2003
~ 392.8 RWHP@6000 ~ 460.0 FTLBs@2500 ~

MODs: Lid,MAF housing,ASP,Cam,918's,TTS Headers with CATS and Chambered Exhaust,VIG2600,3:42 rear.
3300 Miles on engine, heck of a first oil change, engine is stock besides the cam shaft and 918 valve springs.

Any guesses on what it'll do in the 1/4 with some tires?

I'd say pretty nice #'s. I have a 00 and I hear they dont flow as welll as 01/02's, so for a cam only car that rocks. Mine was 306/325 with onlyK&N FIPK, true duals w/ "X" after stock manifolds and CATS, a Yank 3k stall and 3.23's. Hopefully with a cam only I can pull some nice ones like you!
Enjoy.

Charlie.

Those numbers for an A4 sound extremely high. The torque numbers sound like your converter is unlocked and if so, 398rwhp seems a bit much. People with Heads/Cam are only at 400-420rwhp. That seems way high for a Cam only setup. If those numbers are right, you will be way up there with a good set of heads. Post the dyno graph so we can see the curve. Also that should run low 11's with slicks and weight reduction...

Looks like a stock converter dyno I say low 12's. 450 RWTQ @ 2500 rpm?

My dyno without yella-terra's on a dyno that is known to dyno 10-15rwhp low I put down 396 RWHP @ 6200 and 394 RWTQ @ 4200

Unlocked

A4 with that kind of torque? you sure your not looking at a torqe spike? I see that kind of number @2500 as a spike. I would love to see that graph.

That torque number is bogus. What I bet happened was his convertor slipped on the dyno, thus causing a huge torque spike at low RPMs. When dynoing an A4 car with a high stall convertor, you should ignore all torque numbers beneath your stall.

Lets see that dynosheet. Most heads/cam cars dyno about 5% less peak TQ than peak HP. So with his 392 RWHP numbers, my guess is he is somewhere around 375 peak RWTQ.

unusually high for an A4 on stock heads, unlocked converter, with cats. Torque number is bogus.

You can get real torque numbers with an A4, just need to lock the car on the dyno.

Been having trouble posting the last two days... I'll try to get some graphs for you to look over.
I did begin the run with the torque convertor unlocked, it's only a VIG2600. I did lock the convertor @ 70mph to get the best area under the curve, this resulted in 385.6hp&451.1 torque after a 15 min cool down i repeated the same test and got the 392.8&460.6

Your numbers are alittle off. You can see in my Sig what I pushed with my S2/X1 set-up. MTI does some of the best work out there! I`ve got a Vig 3200, 12-bolt,gears, and all. Something isn`t just right. Good Luck!
