Am I going to have issues :(
I ordered a set of stage 2 heads (5.3L) and a cam (230/224 .575/.563 111LSA). After talking to a couple guys I know, I was told I will have piston to valve clearance issues! Is this true, because I'll try to change my order then!
I doubt you'll have any p2v issues... still a good idea to clay it but I don't think you'll have a prob....
I'm running a 224/224 563/563 cam in my car (Stage 2 5.3L heads, no milling) and it was fine... I know others with the TR 230 cam and milled 5.7L heads and they aren't having a prbolem...

I can shift faster than you.

You shouldn't have any problems, but it is ALWAYS a good idea to check. We have run similar heads will .025" milled with no issues with that cam.

My first set of heads were 5.7's milled .030, and my cam was 228/236 .571.602, and when I clayed it, sure enough the valves hit. Set those 5.7 heads back, and recieved 5.3 heads milled only .005 for straightness, and now the car runs like a raped ape. Just to be safe, ALWAYS clay the piston first.
While we're on the subject of 5.3L heads, what will the compression be with a set of unmilled 5.3 heads?
