Default LS1 broke

it made weird sounds and the oil pressure was really low. It sounded like the bottom end came apart. but I took apart the top end of the motor and everything was good looking, nothing was damaged so I guess Im gonna take everything else apart tommorrow. Any ideas on what it is, any suggestions?

Mine sounded like a monkey with a stick and a coffee can. It turned out to be #5 and #6 rod bearings toasted and took the crank with it

the part isn't expensive but you have to take apart your motor to get to them...thats when it becomes expensive

so as long as you tear the motor down yourself its not really that expensive right? Sorry to hijack the thread. This is my last question here. Just figured the OP might want to know this stuff too

The big issue is after pulling the engine, and even after you break it down is to inspect and then check clearances and make sure its with in recommended servicing specifications.

I.E. checking the crank and making sure if it needs to be cut, polished, or if its fine. And that if you have to put a oversized bearing, generally a machine shop will do all of them to keep it simple and for future servicing.

Yank it and check it, fix if needed,
