cams run around $200 used and up, then the springs and pushrods run around $350. use this to install it yourself: http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=23

if you posted your location you could probably get some shops to quote you a price.

If you're faking the dumb act you need to zip it when you go into a shop for a price or you may end up paying a lot more than you expected. If you're not faking I feel sorry for you. Just be sure to bring a jar of vasoline when you pay the bill or it may end up hurting more than your pocket.

DMoney06 wants to know "the worst that could happen"? Now there's a loaded question that I don't think he chevy0128 wants to hear the answer to. With all of the nightmare installs one could imagine and some that are beyond imagination the possibilities of what could go wrong are endless. Even with all of the good tutorials on the web some people still manage to screw it up. Tutorials are good if you know how to follow instructions. You should also have the tools needed for the job and I don't just mean handtools. You need basic mechanical skills to be able to realize when you're about to make a mistake. The people who have these abilities stop and ask a question on LS1Tech.com when they realize they are on the verge of screwing something up. The others break off rocker bolts, strip crank threads, smack pistons into valves bending pushrods and valves. What's "the worst that could happen"? A lot.
