Ms4 GUYs come in!
#41
Well I witnessed it first hand. I dont know why the outcome was like this but I speak the truth. The 2 MS4 cars were an LS1 Goat and a WS6, The MS3 and heads car was a Z28. If it would have went much farther than a 1/4 mile race the MS3 car would have probly won. By the way it wasnt because of traction issues or anything either.

the 4.30's were fine with the 28 tire. Even when i spayed 150, she went 10.60 @ 132 @ around 6900.
here is a link to the video. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/f...ad00c3588a.htm
This is when i first put it together and got all the bugs worked out. Best all motor was 11.60@121. Before anyone says anything about the long crazy burnout i was pissed because i couldnt get the mt drag radials to hook. You can see it spin like hell.

I plan on getting the MS4, and I have been doing a bit of research myself lately. I am trying to get the best combo for the cam without spending the extra cost of flycutting the pistons. This cam really is big, and to take its full potential, you will really need a good intake like a FAST 90/90, and a good set of heads. The PRC stage 1 LS6 heads will be a bit better than the stockers, but with how the cam wants to really breath, it will undoubtingly be more benefitial with flycutting the pistons and going with some much larger heads like you are thinking.
I am also considering just going with a MS3 instead, and then going with some bigger heads to make up the power difference and still avoid flycutting, but I am still trying to figure out if the MS3 with a killer set of heads will give me more power than a MS4 with a stage 1 set of LS6 PRC heads would.

Like posted above, if you get heads with a certain valve size or they are milled, you will have to flycut. Your stock heads, or the stage 1 PRC LS6 heads will not require you to flycut the pistons. But if you went with like the 2.5 PRC's or a large set of Darts or AFR's, then flycutting will be a must.

I've ran both the ms3 and the ms4. Both are great cams. I would say the power difference would be 10 or less rwhp. Tsp told me that a set of stage 1 prc ls6 heads and the ms4 would be around 460rwhp with a 6 speed. I've seen cam only ms4 90/90 set ups put down 430. Not sure on the ms3 cam only numbers
