Ok so we changed some plugs in the back of the intake manifold, because thats where they thought coolant was leaking from. and changed the O rings on the LS6 manifold. well the leak didnt stop today when I cranked over the engine, first time in 2 - 3 weeks...since we had a coolant leak. Anyhow, I just saw today where the leak is from. SO tomorrow when I finish I will test and see if it overheats or not. if not, I should be golden and I have to somehow drive to the tuner and get an exhaust fabricated as well as get it tuned so Itll be driveable...

Anyways the leak was from a missing plug(not freezeplug) On the side of the engine, (by cylinder #8) there is a threaded bolt/plug that takes a 5/16" allen key. anyways the new heads never came with one, so I took it off my old head and will put it on the new head and the leak should stop..

the other head has a coolant temp sensor in there. thats why the other side wasnt leaking..

anyways, hopefully this will be the end to all my troubles..

Well I guess it didnt fully circulate through at first...

and in like a 2 mile distance It took me less than an hour to get back, so I stopped 3 or 4 times after it overheated. so thats how much it overheated and I waited to cool off.. and it wasnt to optmum temperature when I started driving

Hell yeah!! that car fired right up, no overheating.. hard to drive in RPMs under 1500-2000 rpms.. in 4th at under 2000rpm the car shakes and is really jerky...

but the solid engine mounts solved my exhaust banging issues.

Hopefully all is well.

I go get it tuned on monday. I have to drive 1.5 hours , but hopefully all highway miles..

It keeps stalling when I come to a light

Thanks a lot to all of you. Ill keep you updated.

Im going to CMS in Lake Elsinore... Im hoping to put down 430-440RWHP. 2 people and tsp told me 450whp should be no problem, but Im skeptical, so Im aiming low at 430 and ill be happy if anything over that.

Is Ryne gonna tune it in SD or just the standard MAF tune? Either way 450Hp definately isn't out of the question...

Do you plan on running it at Irwindale anytime in the near future?

Very similar combo to what I'd like to run...

I've been working on cars for about 10 yrs now and I forgot that damn plug my first time too, I started spazzing out thinking something was fubar so i called my buddy and asked him to stop by, he looked at the stock head sitting on the floor and said see this (pointing to the plug)and thought to myself "you dumb son of a bitch" , sorta like not installing the rear cam bearing all the the way in on a old smallblock YOULL ONLY DO IT ONCE!!! lol

My best was 7.84 @ 89mph on slicks and skinnys, with 3.73s. I think my 60' was 1.67... this was in late summer or so.

I think now, with my power I can do 7.40s. But Im hoping lower. the only reason I think 7.30s or 7.40s in the 1/8 is because I only have 3.73s and not 4.10 or 4.30s..

and I dont know yet about the tune. I didnt know I had an option. I dont even know what you mean by SD tune.

CMS is good **** man. You will be happy with the tune you get from there, and the power he gets your car making. IM sure he it will be an SD tune, its just much easier to work with.

SD= Speed Density. You would be fueling the engine strickly from the VE table and not VE/MAF. You could then remove the MAF.

Good job on the install.

Ah of course. SPeed density, why didnt I think of that.

Yeah, how is this an advantage over using a MAF? I know chrysler used SD in some of their engines, particularly in the 90s.

Anyhow, yes its a stock MAF tune, but I may go speed density depending on what the advantages are and maybe Ill get a Fast 90/90 in the future as well..

You have the benefit of removing the restriction of the MAF and better drivability. I'm sure there are other benefits.

PM Ryne and have him give you an idea of what situation would be beneficial for an SD tune.

With your setup I believe a Speed Density tune would net the most power and drivability over a standard MAF/VE tune
