Eagle Crank Oil Gallery Plug Leak???

Eagle Crank Oil Gallery Plug Leak??? Is it true that Eagle had issues with the oil gallery plug, in front of the pilot bearing, leaking? A friend of mine has an Eagle crank and is getting oil on his clutch, and wondering if it could be from the plug.. Any input would be appreciated.
A buddy of mine had this exact same problem. They recommended that he j-b weld it. He asked if that was his only option and they told him that he could pull the motor, send it to them and they would just do that same thing.
Very true. They semi addressed the pilot bearing, but did nothing for the oil plug. They have had this problem since 2003 and have yet to correct it. With the compstar available at the same price point, why on earth would anyone buy an eagle crank?

Zebra are you saying that Eagle themselves said to put JB Weld on the existing plug or to remove and replace the plug and then put JB Weld on it? Also does the OEM crank use the same plug?
JBM are you saying that there are problems seating the pilot bearing? I never heard that before. It was always my understanding that Eagle cranks were a great moderately priced product that has seen well over 1,000 rwhp.

Im pretty sure it wasnt Eagle that told him to do that, because they arent the one that warrantied his motor. The company that built the motor (which i wont mention) told him this.

i read about the plug leaking, so i put silicone around mine when i was building the motor. mine hasn't leaked.
if it is leaking from there, have your friend clean the plug area with carb spray and let it dry out. then apply the silicone.
