Default Pushrod length calculation

I would really like to have my car running before the new year but I know I need to still order my pushrods. I have everything else I need to put things back together but I am wondering if I can figure out my correct push rod length with out a checker since I will not be able to do that untill the weekend. I am running the ASA cam with a base circle of .025 smaller then the LS1 cam.I know my stockers are 7.4's and I also now have patriot Stage 2 LS6 heads milled to 62cc. I am running the stock early style LS1 head gaskets. If anyone can give me some advice on whether I should just check it or if there is a way to calculate it I would appreciate it.

7.400 aftermarket is a bit taller than OEM stock. That is what you need.

No doubt I have been lurking in the Internal engine section for quite sometime and have read quite a few of Predators posts. I know Predator is the man. Thanks for the info!

predator, if the 7.4 aftermarket is longer than the 7.4 stock, does that apply to ALL aftermarket pushrods?

Yeah Predator is one of the guys I hope responds to my questions so I don't have to worry about the BS filter.

And FWIW, I'm running an F14 cam with 7.400" pushrods. Not sure exactly what my base circle is, but the cam has .600" lift @.050.

And I think the stock PRs come out to about 7.380" I'll have to measure some of my old ones.

Chop Shop, I respectfully submit that your question is more philosophical than technical. That is,you're engine is you're program and your's alone. Only you can decide what questions should be answered by measurement and which ones should be decided by committee.
