What kind on damage can you cause to your engine if you disconnect the harness to the ignition coil pack to one side of the engine and you turn on the car???

What did you do or want to do? If you didnt run it long, i dont think you would have harmed anything.

I cut it on for less than 3 minutes and reved the engine to 3K without knowing that the right side ignition coils were not connected after installing a set of headers. After I reconnected the ignition coil pack and started the car again I notice smoke coming from the left side which had the ignition coils connected to the wiring harness, like that of burned oil.

Ive had a couple of wires off the car that i missed and started it up for a couple of minutes as well, didnt do anything to the car. The smoke is probably all of the unburnt fuel.

The side that was disconnected got a lot of fuel during that time. Possible long term effects are ring issues (from the gas thinning the oil) and CAT damage but I think you'll be fine. I would change your oil right away.

I got the car started and after running for a couple of minutes the the smoke finally subsided. The sound from the headers is awesome

Recommend you change your oil soon, all that unburned fuel isn't doing it any favors.
