I had Cranes and they had their own stud. The modified harland sharps (rebuilt stock) shipped with new studs too. So my guess is based on that most aftermarket use a different stud than stock.

When using shims, do they go UNDER the rocker arm stand?

The Yella Terra's have individual supports under each arm, they go under that support.

Adjustable rockers are something like the cranes, where the lifter preload can be infinitely adjusted by the adjustment nut. However, as the rocker is adjusted the preload is changes as is the wipe pattern so their setup is a little more involved than something like a Yella Terra, where the fulcrum is fixed when the bolt is tightened up.

On the Cranes the adjustment is made at the fulcrum whereas with Jessel it is done at the pushrod itself since the pushrod cup is on a threaded adjustable piece. If you look closely at the photo, you can see the adjusting nut that holds the rocker to the stud.

ok i understand the measuring with the push rod, but why and adj rocker.what advantage does it give?

Adjustable rockers are another way to adjust lifter preload and valve lash. On a hydraulic setup you don't need them if you have the correct length pushrods. On a solid roller setup you need them to adjust the valve lash.
