Post Is this Cam Too Aggressive?

For my Daily Driver, 02 LS1 Z28, with full exhuast, 3000 stall converter
A4 Trans.. Not worried bout mpg's just wanna know is this cam is too aggressive for a "going to work car" Oh and I will probly hook a small wet kit up eventually...

Is this Futral Cam over the top or Just right in your opinion???

I ran a tsp cam that was alot bigger in my ride around car,and it worked great.You shouldnt have a prob with it!

Dude i just posted an idle clip of a very similar cam mine is a 228/230 .588/.592 lift on a 112 lsa. this is untuned right after 1st startup:

That cam is actually very docile, especially by today's standards.

Any of Futral's 230ish cams are a win. All make great "big cam" power, but have "small cam" driveability. I'll never recommend anything other than Futral cams to my customers.

you'll be just fine after a tune, and that stall will help you out with driveability as well. that'll make some good power as well, i just bought a cam 228/232 dont expect to have any problems with it.

228/230 cam is a good mid range cam. Idle quality isn't too wild. It is cut on a 112 so it is a little rough but nothing major. Sounds like a great cam for your setup man. Tuned properly the cam will make great power.

when you got close to the motor i heard a ticking... i have that same tick, is that common and nothign to worry about? Listen at the very end

yes there is usually a lot more valvetrain noise after doing a cam swap

Dual springs are usually a little louder. If the noise isn't anything too terribly loud, i would not be worried. That cam as mentioned is very docile, considering the cams we have on the street out of our shop. Some small, some BIG.

Unhappy update

got my cam, springs, converter, gears. There sitting in my closet and will stay there a while..... Don't have the dough for installation ATM. A bit discouraged but will get it done eventually. Thanks again for all the help.

I would like to see a little more convertor myself, but all n all cam is a great grind.
