Arrow Problems with the Engine, Please Help !!!

I just had my engine rebuild and installed in my '00 Camaro SS due to a spun bearing, I personally check everything done to it and everything was done following the books... I started the engine and work perfect, the oil pressure was fine and no leaks... I left the garage and when I got back the next day to pick it up, the mechanic told me that he started the engine for a couple of hours to make sure that it won't leak and the car started to make some loud noise and air was coming back from the intake !!!
I thought that it was like a dropped valve, but when I took the valve covers off everything look fine there but when you try to turn the engine by hand, looks like is something blocking it, it turns almost 360 so something has to be inside one cylinder or I don't know....

Do you guys have any clues of what might went wrong ?? or any tips to see what could it be without taking the engine off the car again ???

Thanks a lot for your time...

Well I can really tell you, I wasn't there but it was sending air back thru the intake !!! so I have no clue and looks like something is blocking a piston... I'm telling you, its like a dropped valve but they are all there !!! so ????

If it ran perfect for a while, but now is pumping air back out the intake, then you have a valve that's not closing. You need to pull the heads and see what the problem is.

no one can say anything other than pull your heads. and see with your own eyes. We can guess at it all day long but you have to get in there and pull some things and see for yourself.

Update

Finally got the heads out and look what happened !!!

I upgrade to a set of Patriot Gold Dual Springs and a 230/230 112 .600 cam before this happened...

Is that a Valve seat ??? Maybe too extrem cam ??? or too much presure on the springs ??

Those look like keepers... Are the keepers still in the retainer on that cylinder ?

I knew it was the valve seat by the 1st set of pics. No way the keeper could get in the cylinder.

The seat come out period. Piston to valve contact shouldn't even cause that. Maybe just maybe, if they hit and bent the valve then the valve was being packed into the seat at an angle. Even that is a stretch but it doesnt matter cause your valve looks straight.

Had those heads gotten new seats installed? Whats the history of the heads?

241 heads with 30K miles, no seats or anything, just a set of Patriot Gold Springs and a Nice Cam

Could it be that it Overheat and the seat broke or felt ???

Possible that when he "let it run for a couple hours" it just sat by itself and heated up to 275+ degrees and beyond over heated it while it ran unattended.

Same here if you look close in the one pic you can see around the intake valve that the seat was trashed. I think your pretty much stuffed on this one thats one hell of a tough break. Sorry . . .
