Okay my understanding is that the 2001 and newer come with an ls6 intake manifold and the 98-2000 come with a more agressive cam. Is this true and if it is would i make more power if i bought a stock 2000 and put a ls6 intake on? Im in the process of buying so im just curious...

Agreed, and only a few 01 LS1 F-cars had LS6 intake, all 02 LS1 F-cars had them. if you want a decent cam for really cheap, get the LS6 Cam. should be able to pick one up for about $70 on here.

Some bad info in this thread....
That is not correct. Every '01 and '02 LS1 car has the LS6 intake. All of them.
No, the '98 to '00 do indeed have a different cam. Plus some other minor internal differences from the '01+ cars.

I was curious thanks. I dont want to open the engine up yet...dont have enough faith in myself so i was trying to figure out the best route to go...ill probly get a 01 or newer, it seems the better choice due to the upgraded clutcg parts and intake. I need to learn more or have someone do a h/c
