Throttle body prting questions....

Ok so i was looking at the how to port throttle body posts.... Now is it more beneficial to just buy one? like how many mm will this porting thing do? and isnt there someone on here who will send u a ported and polished one and u send back the core for sum bucks? thanks appreciate it.. even though im sure this questions been asked a few times...

I tried porting my TB following some instructions I found on here. I could tell a noticeable improvment, but I got a little carried away with the area immediately around the blade causing my idle to be high. I wound up buying the summit brand 85mm. It's worked great for the last year with no problems, and it was cheaper than most of the name brands. Good luck.

Check out Scott Jantzer on this forum. He has been porting these for years, and could probably tell you everything you ever wanted to know on the subject, and even give you some tips to boot. just do a search on him, and send him a PM. Cool guy too.

there are some great porters on here that you can do that . the mm will not be increased simply because the mm is the blade size and that would mean to bore where the blade goes 2mm and add a larger cut blade to fit in its place . i think the stock tb can only be bored out safely 2mm to be a 80 .
most just grind down the hump or lip in front of the blade . of course the bump stop you want to know what you are doing so you get true 100% wot . if you mess it up you will get a code thrown . this is a good reason to use a pro to do it .

try new era you send them yours as a core and they send you a ported one for $75 Mike did a great job on mine. Plus they're on sale now for $65

gutted mine chucked it up on a lathe and cut the hump out. then polished with 400 grit.
that cost me a 12 pack. if you don't have a friend with a lathe that new era looks like a real good deal.
