Double chain should not effect oil pressure. I do remember reading in the instructions for mine that you should use silicone between the pump, spacer's and block to keep the oil from seaping through.
Yes you can put the 0-ring on the pick up tube that way, but since your not pushing the pick up tube straight on, you can cut it on the beveled edge in the pump...

Whatever you decide to do.... [Never Ever Ever] re-use the old O ring.
Been there, done that, and have the T shirt to prove it.
Get the O ring that Thunder Racing sells (light blue in color). It's slightly different from the GM spec O ring. That was the fix for my fluxuating low oil pressure problem after my cam, head, timing chain change.

Something else, I should mention. I installed a double timing chain that required that I add small spacers to the oil pump. I wonder if this added distance is causing the problem.
I've been told by a sponsor that sometimes these spacers dont get installed correctly and that causes low oil pressure.

That can happen, on the outlet side of the oil pump the spacer (one with with 3 holes) can be reversed. The oil hole should be closer to the top bolt.
I still think its an o-ring problem myself.

I didn't use any silicone gasket maker RTV on the spacers. Do I use it on both sides. As for the O-Ring , does GM carry the same one? Also, can I use two o-rings to help the leaking problem?
Thanks
Thanks
