Default PAC valve springs?

I need some info guys. I'm putting a cam (228/232-112 LSA) in the car in two weeks & the 918 Comp springs are still not available. (Apparently they had some break & are going through a design change) I don't want to spend the extra money for dual springs because I will be doing heads in the future anyway & it would be a waste in the long run. LS1speed is selling these PAC 1218 springs with their cams for a very reasonable price, but I don't know anything about them.

I know that Patriot is a sponsor here, but I had a buddy that had one of theirs break as well so I'm apprehensive to use them just based off word of mouth.

Any suggestions or comments are appreciated!

Shay

I used the PAC 1218's with my TR224, so far so good. If the lift on your cam is over 0.600 you should go with the 1518's.

PAC 1218's are basically the old tried and true Comp 918's. Comp doesn't make their own springs, PAC was making them until Comp decided to switch to a different manufacturer and that's when all their trouble started. The PAC 1518's have additional surface treatment and will last longer. Also, Crane now sells the PAC 1218's as a Crane product as well.

It will be .588/.595 & I will be having you guys custom grind it for me next week.
BTW, I'm wanting to go with a 7.425 rod over the stock length. Do you keep those in stock?

Just wondering why you use 1220's - PAC lists those as big block chevy springs.

Because he has heads that have the extra room to install them at ~1.900"
