Must pass emissions. The 0 overlap will be hard but it's been done so dont say that just because of the overlap it won't pass because it has numerous times.
The car has:
FTRA, lid, bellow, ported tb, ls6 intake, long tubes, 3" catted y to 3.5" straight through race muffler. It's a 98 m6
I will put a cam in next month with Katech rod bolts and get either tfs 215's or afr 205's over the summer. Will eventually spray 100 shot. It's not a daily driver but commonly driven on the street (about once a week)

Cam polls are pointless. You have to make a decision for yourself. What I think you should use is irrelevant and unimportant. I personally think it's going to be hard to get the top two through a sniffer test, but properly tunned they will pass the test where they plug into your data port just fine.
If I had to choose, I'd pick the 3rd option because it would be the most stealth with the least amount of lope.

In what state does it have to pass smog? If you live in CA or Denver, CO you are pretty much screwed. Not only for passing smog but noise emissions and everything else. I personally run the 224/228 114 LSA and it's a great cam sounds mean as hell with LTs and bullet mufflers on an x-pipe. Plenty of power in the curve and everywhere I drive people are always saying how great the car sounds. I'm leaving the cam where it is. It is driveable for anybody, sounds good, still decent mileage, great overall power, and still under the .600 lift range before you start having to change the rest of the valvetrain. If you want to get into the 400 HP range with your car then look no further than the 224/228. I love the mild lope and everyone oogles a lopey cam

To pass the sniffer, you really need to be closer to -7 degrees of overlap. Very few people pass the sniffer with 0 degrees of overlap. That's a pretty dirty cam for the sniffer.

My two cents and being in California and having to pass smog. We have a 3rd Gen car club with a lot of the cars running "modified" L98 motors. Quite a few of the cars are running very similar cams to those specified above except most are on 113 LSA with one that I can think of with a 114LSA. So far no problems in passing smog. One of the members does the all important tuning and IMHO that is the key. Get a good tune.
