Trashed new motor?
Trashed new motor? I rebuilt my motor in the garage, assembled everything and the car fired up right away. I check oil pressure and have zero, shut the car off check everything and restart let run for about 2-3 minutes and finally get normal oil pressure. It didn't have an inspection sticker so I drove around the neighborhood 5-10min at night for 2 weeks to make sure the motor was good....never went above 3200rpms and no problems. So I am feeling good on Saturday driving to the inspection doing about 60mph stop at the light and I start to hear a ticking sound....almost like a loose rocker. I turn around to head back and get about 200yards down the road before the car starts shaking and knocking as if someone was hitting the motor with a hammer. I get a tow home pull the motor and check the oil pan....I have stuck to the screen tiny metal shavings that are shiney and shaped like small clouds. What does this sound like rod bearing? And why now....didn't even get a chance to get on it yet?
Did you put a new, or even the old, plastic oil plunger back into the back of the block under the rear cover? Its a little bone shaped plastic plunger with a rubber o-ring around one end of it. If you dont replace it or put the old one in, you wont have any or very much oil pressure.
The plunger is why I didn't have oil pressure on initial start...did replace and was able to get normal oil pressure.

did you machine everything and then get the properly sized bearings, new bolts, etc
Or did you just tear into it and throw new rings and bearings in an old engine? Did you accurately check and recheck every single clearance? And if you say the clearances were fine , how did you measure them, what did you use?
