Default Newbie Needs Cam help....

Hi all my car:
2002 WS6 M6
Lid & kn
Loudmouth exhaust

I have a tr224 cam 112 LSA along with hardened push rods. (it's been collecting dust, no I have the funds to put it in) I wanted to know if there was anything else you would suggest I obtain before taking it in for the install....

Thanx

You should get a JWIS timing chain and Comp 918 springs. Nice to have optional items would be Ti retainers, Yella Terra roller rockers, ASP pulley, a Thunder Racing modified LS6 oil pump, and an LS6 valley cover. Some of these are not cam related, but it sure is a good time to put them in with it torn down anyway.

I'd agree with Cal's post...... the Yella Terra rockers are a little expensive to just throw in there (somewhere around $500) and they aren't really that necessary although they are nice. I'd say the most important stuff you need are the 918 springs for sure (the stock ones definately won't hold up), the pushrods which you have, the JWIS timing chain set, maybe a double roller (go get it from SDPC sponsor to the right --->) and if you want a ported oil pump from ARE, Katech, MTI, Thunder...... whoever you like. It will give you higher oil pressure and may help if you're reving the motor to high RPM's. The pulley isn't a bad idea either it'll give you a few HP and you'll be taking it off anyway.

918 Springs and Double roller timing chain. Titanium retainers wouldn't hurt either.
