Oil Pressure Sux, Got To Pull It Apart
Oh well, its nobodies fault but mine.
Have any of you guys who have taken off and replaced your oil pump hadd this problem?
<strong> I am an idiot. When I removed the oil pump after my cam install and put it back on I did not pull the Oring gasket out of the oil pump and sit it on the pick up tube so it looks like I know what my weekend plans will be. My oil pressure cold idle is only 42psi, oil pressure after running the **** out of it warm idle is only 23psi. It goes up to 60psi when I run it and up just slightly more when I let the motor wind down.

But my oil pressure was a constant 30psi when I was driving and dropped to 16psi at idle. I know the oring was on the pickup tube but when we took it apart again, the oring was completely gone. Disappeared. Probably got caught somehow and ripped it and then it got sucked into the engine.

Still, if you think something is wrong you should check it or else you might end up doing more work later.
By the way, was the cam install difficult?
