Default reluctor ring question

Someone please help me
i installed a new crank, in my engine, 347, and now all it does is floods the damn plugs and sets the P0336 code
i have changed the CKP sensor and traced all the wires to check for damage and found nothing.
This was a complete rebuild and the only thing different is a new crank, and the intake is now painted
i haved searched on here for days and found nothing like this please if you have been through please let me know how to fix it

Make sure there are no shorts in the wiring to the crank sensor...I had that problem...that part of the harness gets stretched real easily when pulling engine.

P0336 is a crank sensor problem, as you have indicated. What was changed w/ the crank? Did you or the installer change the reluctor wheel or did you re-use the existing wheel? What year is your block? If the new crank came w/ a reluctor wheel, that could be the issue. Older than 04 models had a different tooth count. Also, check that the crank sensor is mounted correctly & has a reference voltage. There could also be a bad ground. Usually, one of the three wires grounded to the back of the passenger side head gets missed or damaged when re-installed. Let us know what you find & we can move forward from there.

Might also be as simple as performing a crank re-learn. Anyone w/tuning software can do this &/or look to see if that's the problem.

I'm having the same problem and just happened to just post a very similiar thread before I saw this... But I've noticed a few threads mentioning doing the crank relearn procedure. Unfortunately, you can't perform the relearn procedure with the p0336 code set (one of the conditions the PCM checks is that the code isn't set).. I've tried tricking the PCM by disabling the p0336 code, but the relearn still didn't work.

ok got it down and found the ring was bent so i straitened it and put it back together Well here is a list

i pulled the engine
put it on the stand
found the reluctor ring was bent
straitend the ring
put it back together
put it back in
left the coil packs unhooked
pulled the fueel pump fuse
spun it over to prime it
oil pressure went up to 60#
Smiled
hooked everything back up
tried to start it
would not fire or pulse the inj.
then after trying to get it to start
no more oil pressure
so i have been tracing every wire
and noticed when i tried to start it the starter would just click
Today
tried the starter nothing but click click
pulled the starter left the wires hooked up and put a jumper cable on the ground of my battery and on the starter,, hit the switch and it spun like crazy
put it back on and nothing but clicks
this led me to the ground being bad so i added a new ground from the battery to the block
unhooked the coils and fuel pump and tried to get the oil pressure back up
NOTHING
well for craps and giggles i hooked up the coils and fuel pump and if fired off on the third turn WOW i shut it down quick (about 2 sec.) lets not forget the oil pressure
unhooked every thing again and also took off the oil filter and there some oil in the filter and it also ran out of the motor spun it over and nothing came out so that has been my day
i turned it into a Bud Lite Nite

every time i get something right something else goes wrong
but i am getting good at taking the engine out
I guess it will come back out tomorrow
