I actually just bought my stall converter about 10 mins ago. 5200 should do.....curious to see how it acts on the pro trans brizake! Shane at thunder racing just called me and we got everything set up. Cam, pushrods, valvesprings, and my ARP pro series rod bolts Only have two things left to buy before I'm done. Should be finished in less than two months...tuning and all.

My cam has a fair amount of lift and duration, but it is not nearly as radical as your cam. The street manners are good, but a 114 + 4 vs 109 + 2 makes for a whole lot of differance when talking about streetability.

Only thing not stock in the engine is the ARP pro rod bolts for extra strength....other than that.......welll, thats it. After I try hitting my goal n/a i'm going to put 100 on top and try to dip into the 9's....after that, i'm getting rid of it and building something else. Dont ever keep any car long, just seems so awesome building new ones...but maybe thats just me .....

I run a LSK lobe on the intake with that lift, but nowhere near that duration. I can't wait to hear your idle, not exactly gonna be a sleeper!

My Z's motor has Patrick G's fingerprints, handprints, etc (cam included) all over it and it just screams. This man knows what he is doing for sure!
Patrick G cam in my ride: 238/242 duration at .050, .605/.610 lift, 112 LSA +3 installed at 109 intake centerline.
A4 with performabuilt level 2 tranny with a Yank 3600 stall
This car is my daily driver and track car on occasional trip to track (yet to occur on my new setup).

I dont doubt Patrick G... just from experience... my old motor spun a bearing and that clearance (on that spun rodbearing) made my valve smack the piston. How thick is a rodbearing?

people get so scared about valve to piston clearence when they dont realize that joe from t56 rebuilds has a cam bigger then what is stated up above. my t-rex was on milled stock ls1 heads spinning to 7200 and never had a problem. let us know what happens and have fun.

Its a cam only set up...stock everything and no nitrous. My goal is very low 10 with weight reduction and a high auto stall. Going for the record this year with a cam only set up. Talked to shane at thunder racing for about 45 mins the other night. Gave me some pretty good advice to. Not saying that I dont know what i'm doing but i just think he has more experience. I'm only 23 but i've had an s-10 that i've dragged since i was 16, it's now in the 9's, hopefully 8's this year.

Did he also explain the necessity of having a well set-up suspension??

yes yes....but remember, i have a s-10 in the 9's on a 10.5 tire. I think i'll be ok on the suspention aspect of it. Gettin a s-10 to hook off a 5000 stall is like getting a grocery cart to hook up with a small block in it. On a serious note though, we did talk about it for a while, Car already has Qa1 all the way around it. Still have some small stuff to do under it though.
