get a 6.0L block.... stock cubes right?

no seriously. its possible. Patrick G did it with his setup, and there is a guy in miami that's making about 505rwhp.

i'd say that prtty much is the max effort on stock cubes. they are running top heads, custom cams, worked intakes, well planned exhausts...

more may be possible with a carb setup..but i doubt it would be very streetable.

go chat with those guys

Have any broke the 500 mark with stock casting heads? I think the 243's will be the limiting factor here.

yeah i dont think it could be done with 243's either.Although they are a great head ,you cant beat the chamber and runner designs of the top aftermarket heads.

I Would think it is possible, i have 415 RWHP with Cam, Fast 90/90, pulley, LT headers and various other boltons. I would think with a good set of heads i would be close.

Thumbs up

There are quite a few people making that HP with stock cubes. In fact, more and more every week it seems! We made 468rwhp on a Mustang dyno, with 27" Hoosier QTP's, TH350 w/5,500 stall converter, 11* heads and a tune that wasn't even close to 100%. Granted it is race mill with a BIG solid roller, 15:1 comp., carb style intake, etc. That was two years ago now. Then agian, dyno numbers mean little to me, just a tuning tool. It's the numbers lit up on the board when I go through the traps I care about!

Cartek, LG and MTI have made over 500 rwhp with ported factory castings. The porting has to outstanding and the rest of the combo has to be spot-on, but 500 rwhp with heads and cam is not limited to just aftermarket cylinder heads. In the right hands, the factory heads can be ported to flow like wind tunnels too.

I had my block bored .010" over, but it was only 348ci...basicly stock cubes...corrected numbers in my sig. My heads were just stock 853 cast heads that Lingenfelter Performance CNC ported, and a friend of mine went back and cleaned up a little around the valve seats. Maybe with a set of AFR, Trickflow, or ETP heads, or if I had sent the Fast 90 intake off to be ported, I could have cracked 500rwhp.

My 346 Ci NA LS6 stock bottom engine topped 511 RWHP /455 RWTQ and is a daily driver...

The key to solve the equation is about building a nice combo designed by knowledgeable persons and an accurate tuning to complement the final results.
