You are missing something, check your valves, its practically mandatory. you probly bent a valve with your rod looking like that. You dont wanna screw your valve stems up and just.. run your motor like its a cheap ho, you know what i'm sayin? I would HIGHLY recommend at the very least you take out your valves for inspection. you'll know if it's bent cuz it won't come out easy. As for rockers, I bet they are good, just look em over a little but I bet they are fine.

Even though this thread is a few months old, I am curious to how his engine is running today.
