Yeah, generally the longer exhaust duration makes up for a poor flowing exhaust. So if you are running a nice exhaust, and especially if you have ported or aftermarket heads, that much of a split is not needed. Think about it, GM isn't going to design a cam for you to use with your expensive aftermarket exhaust system, they are going to design it for a completely stock and emissions legal car.

Labeling the hotcam as bringing a knife to a gunfight is simply uneducated. There are TONS of people making 380-395rwhp cam only with the hotcam. Its a great cam for the money, considering you can get the whole setup for a LOT cheaper than just about any other cam kit on the market. The exhaust split is not only due to the exhaust, with stock heads the exhaust split is still beneficial.

I made 380/372 F14 highlift, stock untouched 853's, LS1 intake, stock 26# injectors, 4.10's, see sig. So, you tell me how bad the hotcam is.

there are better cams for the $$$, but like has been said, it is a good starter cam with lope. when i first used the cam, and drove it untuned for a year and swapped it out. $600 is rediculous tho. check out summit, they have it pretty cheap.

Im still running the hotcam in my car and dont regret it. Pulls pretty damn hard after 3K rpms. Now, once my motor gives out I will be getting a built motor and of course a bigger cam.... buts thats another story!!

I just picked one of these up from a member on here and am lookin forward to it, the low lift doesn't beat the hell outta my drivetrain and with the ASA cam you get the sound everyone likes......are there better cams, sure , but like someone said i like my power under the curve....my motor has and never will see 7000rpms anytime soon
