The XeR lobes are designed to increase the 'area beneath the lift curve' in each profile. They begin moving the valve off its seat quicker, to initiate flow earlier. This basically makes the XeR cams function like a much 'bigger' cam (greater duration) yet they increase low-end and mid-range torque in the most often used rpm range. Horsepower and torque output are enhanced throughout the entire rpm range.

Love my TR224, nice HP and Tq and easier on the on the valvetrain then the TSP, i can't imagine the TSP makes much more HP then the TR224, if it makes more at all.

The buddy who is doing the work said go with the one with the smaller lift as the higher lift can't give you that much more HP. the lobes are very close and the lower lift is easier on the springs and lifters.

I have the 224R. I love it. Go with dual springs. I got Patriot golds delivered from a LS1 tech vendor for under $240.00. It will all be in the tune when all is said and done. I have no input for an A4
