Aaaahhhh the trying to mod without the wife knowing scenario. I usually just put aside cash and have a buddy of mine order the stuff for me. It's not that we don't have the money, but she just can't understand why I spend money on something I only drive 2000-2500 miles a year.

Well, I skim off of my paycheck into my credit union account for my car loan. I have all my o-t, bonusses etc also go into that account. I then cash it out and spend it guilt free. She kind of knows about it, but not exact amounts.
Ehh, a happy wife is a happy life. If it wasn't for her, I'd be living in an appt from paycheck to paycheck, in debt up to my ears on credit cards. Granted, I'd have an 800hp twin turbo etc etc. But now I have a nice home, plenty of savings and just play by the rules and find ways to make both of us happy.
