Default MS3 cam ?

thinking about going with this cam in my stock 01 Z28.is this a good choice?also would i have to change pushrods and rockers?

It is a big cam that loves RPMs. You will want to spin it to about 7000 to get its full potential. If you want to spin that high you might want to look at upgrading the rod bolts. You can get the TSP dual spring camshaft package with the MS3 and you will have almost everything you need. Wouldn't be a bad idea to get new lifters if you have a lot of miles on your car but your heads need to come off for those, so its your call. A lot of people replace the oil pump and timing chain while they are in there to.

I have a MS3 in my car and it makes good power, but you will need to change your valve springs since stock can't handle the lift, and as mchdg86 said it is a good idea to change your lifter...LS7 would be my pick cause the cheap and keep the noise down. don't forget you'll need to pull the heads to change lifters tho

well i've been trying to read up on what cam to go with.i dont think i am going to use the ms3 or 4 anymore.going to go with a smaller cam.it is my daily driver so i was thinking a hotcam or the tr230/224.i want something with good power for the street and will still put down a good et.the car will eventually get a set of heads to go with the cam what cam would yall recomend?

Stock?? You will want all supporting mods first... headers, catback, gears, stall/clutch and so on. Stock rockers will be fine.. you will need to swap valve springs, pushrods, oil pump and timing chain

sorry,i have longtubes,ORY,borla catback,slp lid,stock gears & clutch but both will be gone soon

TR230 will put down great power and great ET's without spinning so high. I shift at 6500. It will also work well with heads....Pat G and Predator Z both recommended PRC Stage 2.5 5.3L heads.

thanks for the info,sounds like i will be going with this cam,do u have to use the dual valve springs for this cam?

I had the Futral F13 in my old Z28 and to me was a perfect DD cam that had great power(381 rwhp through an A4) and ran good times at the track(11.6x-11.7s).
