Default what heads, and stall with 224/228 110+0 (patrick G cam)

Ive decided to get the 224/228 110+0 (torque comming out of my ear-cam) and am 99% sure that a set of stage 2.5, 5.3 TSP heads are the ticket for me, i might venture into hand finishing them but thats about it.. rest of setup is ported TB, LS-6 IM, LT´s no cats, UD pulley..

car is 79 malibu and should weigh in at 3300, tranny is A4 and ite a pro touring DD car.. i wil take it to the track mabe twice a year, and the remainding of my racing will be stoplight type...

im wondering what stall wil be a good compromise between launch, and daily driver.... 2600 rpm?? will that work with the above setup

should mention we have 95 octane on pump here.. i realize the DCR is kinda hich with that cam and small chambers..

I have a 2800 Precision Industries. Great daily driver converter and stalls a little higher than advertized, 3200-3300 rpm. I've had it for three years.

doesnt that get old fast with a 3200 rpm stall? or does the lockup "save" the drivabillity??
and i thought the vig2600 stalled at 3200 and the 3200 was up in the 3800 range?
and 04gtod... nice numbers thru an A-4 with that cam.... ! what rear gear are you running.. it gives me hopes of breaking into the 11's seing what you run!

I would say a Yank SS3600. Nice and tight for city driving but offers great performance. I dd a Yank PT4400 and I wouldn't have it any other way. LS1's like the bigger stalls. I'd go minimum of 3500.

Yank SS 3600 is my first choice, the Vig 3200 is my second choice. Both are excellent. You've got some good cylinder heads chosen. Nice high velocity runners.

i guess i just have this fear of having a car that has too high stall... on the other hand ive driven a bmw 325 that had a converter that just killed the launch.. the car could be half way across the intersection before it strated puling....

what i dont get is how a 3600 rpm stall converter can be tight??

hey.. there is the farther of the cam... now that you are here.. would there be an advantage of running a reverse split over your torque cam??

i know.. i did read the thread... but my question was if the fact that the car is a little lighter and the primary use is street/track driving... and not so much 1/4 mile as the emphasis here seems to me.. and lastly.. if the limited traction of the pro touring style tires.. shouldnt make me get a tighter converter.....
