I have been going for weeks on a can, started out the 224 and then 228 and now torq. v2 or ms3 damn I have no idea what I want.

The reason behind keeping the LSA tight is to keep the power peak at a lower engine speed. Those 114 cams might have a smoother idle, but they'll also rev to almost 7,000 like you said. A 224/224 112+0 is going to gave tge same IVC, and therefore power peak, as a 228/228 110+0.

And yes, the TR224 uses a proprietary lobe which is almost as agressive as the Comp XE-R, but at a little less lift.
