TSP224R or TSP228
TR224 (Thunder) or TSP224R or TSP228
Which would be the best for a daily car that loves to prove itself from time to time! I started my search choosing between the MS3 and MS4 and have been awaken to reality in the sense that smaller cam cars get the job done with much better driveability! I don't mind if the car is a little tougher to drive but I don't want it to be annoying! I also didn't want to push the ptv clearance to close! So on my 39,000 mile engine which would perform better with Longtubes...maybe (ARH) and a LID and smooth bellow, with stock 853 heads! The car is a M6!
Please your opinions are helping me spend my money right the first time!

i would say 228R over the 224 any day. But i think you should go with something a tad bigger like maybe a 228/230 with a tight lsa and to still get it to peak at stock redline

And by tight LSA do you mean like a 112 or like a 114. (which of those two examples are "tighter")

228 isn't too big, it should still respond decent everywhere. Theres an easy fix if it has no bottom end power.Gears! The two mods would compliment each other nicely anyways. A 3.73 would probably be a great gear for a 228 cam. Atleast I would think.

I was going through the same dilema and have decided on the 228R. My car is a DD and with the stage 2.5 5.3 heads, longtubes and true duals the car is going to fly. I just want it to fly when I want and cruise when I want...thats why I dont go bigger. I have been told and I believe it that the tune is about the most important part and makes the car drivable or not.

Seems like the TR224/224 is the definate choice with stock heads...not reving the motor out to 7,000 RPM's and having more overall horsepower and torque compared to my other options here! Even Comparing the dyno charts between a TR224/224 and a TR230/224 and over the whole dyno graph from 2,200 to 6,500 the TR224 makes more power and torque on average!!!!!
