Sorry to hear your problem... I had the same thing happen with stock lifters 2 years ago. So everyone knows stock gm lifters application are as follows 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, and yes 7.0 LS7, same part number.... Found after research that I had to much preload.. I now run less than half of recommended preload with no concerns of valvetrain unstability. Just a little noisey on intial startup for a few seconds, but will rev to 7,000 rpms very quick. Goodluck

these had 2k miles on them. got them about 6-7 months ago. i actually waited for them to come off backorder and held up my build for them. tfs 215's milled to 60cc, tsp torquer 2 cam, ported ls6 oil pump. had great pressure up until they let go. then i lost it. running the patriot extreme gold springs and they all seem to be perfect. i rev it to 6800 when im in it. it just got noisier over the last 500 miles or so. i chalked some of it up to the fats manifold being a thinner plastis etc but i guess that wasnt the case. im wondering if i just got a bum batch as there are several people running them with success.

I think what adds to the problem is that some of the high lift cams reduce the base diameter so the lifter can drop further past the edge of the bore.

Amen to that "you get what you pay for"! The older I get the more I figure that is the truth. Spend the money now, so you won't have to spend alot more later!

i was told by sdpc that they come in like a big set then they get reboxed and sent out.. so there is a poss sounds like a shipping issue and a handling issue when i returned the shippment on my return slip i stated that i wanted them wrapped carefully and then boxed.. and shipped so i will see how they are when i get them back...

I dont think one person having trouble with the Caddy lifters qualifies them as garbage.

I think mine are the LS7 lifters but they looked like the original LS1 lifters they replaced. I don't know what the difference is in the LS7 & caddy lifters but I hope these hold up better. Got me thinking now tho. Good luck with your rebuild.
