Default T-56 refill

Hi all,
I am changing ALL the fluid in my 98 Z. I have the transmission drained, and with the tight quarters I have no clue how I am going to re-fill the tranny. Are there any tools that can be suggested, or would it hurt anything to pop the shifter off and fill it from above?

There's a simple pump that acts like a big syringe, you can get it most auto parts stores. That's what I use.

It may take you about an hour to fill the tranny but the way i do it is just to go from the top.. pop your console out and take your shifter out and fill it from the top

Since the fluid is ATF.. it will flow well.. use the Pump.... they are cheap and most part store do carry them.. It will not take that long to Pump it all in.

At the motorcycle shop I used to work at we used a hand pump top on our gear oil. It looked like a beefed up version of a bottle of hand soap. It came on the bel-ray gear oil bottles. Take a piece of flexible clear hose and clamp it on the end. Feed the hose to the fill and pump away. You would be surprised how fast it would move 100w gear oil.

i just went to advanced and bought that tube that screws onto the bottle, squeezed the bottle while holding it up next to the transmission and header, filled it in about 10 min.

You can take off the shifter, which works well, or you can get a hose and a funnel so you can run it from the engine compartment to the fill hole and fill from there.
