Finished head swap, loss of some oil pressure?

Thoroughly examine all the parts removed. Is the metal magnetic that you pulled from the pan, that will give some indication of where it may have come from. Did you draw an oil sample that you can send in for analysis? That will let you know if you had coolant leak into the oil, which may have caused lubrication issues. How do the lifters look? Was the oil pump already in the car and untouched? Cut the filter open, what is inside the filter? Do some other diagnosis with the information you already have, then take the next step. You need to proceed slowly so you don't inadvertently throw away a telltale part that may have been the cause.

Well, got the motor out and taken apart, spun a rod bearing, must have just been bad timing when I did the head swap, I just wonder how it went did the low oil pressure cause the bearing to spin or was it already going and then just went bad because that can affect oil pressure too....personally I think something was up why the oil pressure was acting funny and that caused the bearing cause all the other ones look perfect, whole motor is very clean. Time for that 383 I guess.
