I might have a good deal on a set of 1.8 rockers. Would you guys recommend the 1.8 rockers to up the lift on the cam. again its a 232/240 .551 .551 117 lsa. this will help some? I do have the afr hydrolic dual springs and the thunder racing pushrods.

thanks in advance

Do you know yet what lift you would have after the 1.8s? With that duration and more lift will you have piston clearence issues? I would honestly find a good tuner and ask them, but I would say leave the cam and dyno it.

First get it tuned professionaly and the best rockers for that cam are the Crane variable lift rockers. And you should be very close if not over 400 tuned with bolt ons of course..

I should get the rockers first and then the tune? or tune it first and get the rockers? I have most the bolt ons except a pulley. I have the lt's, p&p tb, ls6 intake, borla, lid, bellow. ect. thank you predator!

Tune ASAP.
Then make further decisions after.

Please tune, you need no more mods till you tune properly.

It is like loading a bullet without a cap and wondering why it aint firing.

I agree with what some others have said. With a solid tune you should be really close to 400.

I agree entirely imo. go with the crane variable lift before 1.8's. but definitely, TUNE FIRST! youll never know exactly how its going to run until you get a good tune, pay the money for a reputable, experienced dyno tune as its completely worth it.

as a footnote, going with 1.8 rockers is a bandaid for the overall problem. if you tune it and it still doesnt do what you want to do, then a bigger cam would be the proper way to up your lift. yes, youd have to tune it yet again, and i feel your pain there. but that would be the "correct" way, if there really is any. its only really making up for a mismatched cam selection.

also I checked out your page on your car to see what else you may be able to do to reach your goal. it looks like youve got all the important bolt ons already. if you are after performance rather than pretty-dyno-numbers, i noticed you still run stock rear end gearing and id go there. if it were me, id get a good dyno tune first, then swap your 3.42 to 3.73 or even 4.10's if you wanna go that radical. for a car like yours with a m6 and a bolt-ons that is already running a somewhat radical cam, a rear end gear change would really wake up your car. it will be pricey, though, to have a good shop do it, id guess maybe 700 bucks parts included. but unless you are real familliar with the proper setup and care of a rear end, pay someone else to do it as it needs to be installed and adjusted properly to live on the street, let alone the dragstrip. but you will really, really notice a difference.

then when you pull up to the punk in his overcammed, poor-mannered unsorted 400 hp z28, you can tell him you're running 370 RWHP and proceed to blow his doors off.

if it were me, and i drove the car on the street alot, 3.73's F T W!

Just recently installed my TSP Torquer2 and made 392/362. The tuner spent around 4hrs in the car tuning it and it works great for what I wanted. I'm getting over 20mpg so far and I don't drive easy and I have several starts and stops on the way to work. The car is driven daily and I'm very pleased with the street manners of the Torquer 2.

Mods are:
Cremaic Coated LTs
Torquer 2
Catted Y
Magnaflow Catback
LS6 intake
LS1 Motorsports Lid
DIY Ported TB

Hope this helps you in your decision but I do agree with several of the other members, you must see where you are at before going forward. I was at 335/342 before so I gained 57 rwhp and 20 rwt with just the addition of the cam and intake. All other mods were the same on the first dyno without the cam/intake.

thank you guys for all your input. I am going to get it tuned this week and I will post up the numbers and go from there.

Carter, good numbers. Thats exactly where I want to be or 400... I made 342/348 minus the cam.. so we shall see how it goes... thanks again guys.
