Default Should I use these lifters???

I have an un-used set of Comp 875-16 Lifters, the Pro-Magnum 'R' Version which were made in like 03 or 04 that I bought for a build and never used. They're fine but being that old, they were made by Comp's previous supplier and aren't prone to the failures that the newer ones are. Should I go ahead and use them, or should I sell them and buy some LS7 lifters and pocket some money? I wanted the Caddy Lifters but with the problems they've been having I'm very leary. The Morel's are out of the question....I won't pay that much for a lifter in a street car that maybe when done will get 500 to the wheels.

I actually ordered a set of LS7's yesterday, but my dealer called today and said they were on national backorder.

I hear the comp R has to be set up perfect on the preload or the little clip in the lifter will come apart. I would use the LS7 lifters.

I hear that's the newer ones, mine don't have a clip. It's more of a cone shaped plate with a recess for the pushrod tip.
If I would use them I would take the steps to ensure that the preload was set correctly.

That plate is the clip he is talking about. .002"-.004" preload is all they get.
