After more research and talk with ron at vengence racing I think i am going with Trickflow 215cc milled to 59cc. I am probably going with a 228 cam. Something like that should be a good setup with great power low end and midrange

I was told by g-force that the trick flows make much more power. They used an extreme example of 70 horses but that was on a 408 motor with the bigger heads... they told me they have used etp heads, afr's and so on. they did tell me they were better on the 215's as well though... Im for trick flows...

Funny how many people who have yet to do H/C recommend the TFSs and ETPs over the AFRs. I personally own the AFR 205s and a mamo ported 90/90 setup w/ a midsized cam, and i have to say that i love it.

Peak dyno #s are really not all that imporant. I have beat pullied cobras on motor that claim to put down 480+rwhp, and been beat by c6 corvettes that put down 420rwhp. Its the setup as a whole thats important.

More importantly however, dyno numbers are an unreliable bench mark for perfromance. People are under the incorrect assumption that all dynos are correctly calibrated. I have personally witnessed 30rwhp+ descrepencies on dynos within 10 miles of one another. People also do things to trick the dyno such as changing the tire pressure.

Bottom line, I can't give you a side by side comparision between the AFRs or either of the two others so it is difficult for me to make an honest reccomendation. All I can say is that you won't be dissapointed with the AFR 205s. Low end Torque is abundant, throttle response is instantaneous and they make plenty of power up top. Remember, that they are a high velocity head, so don't be fooled if they appear to flow slightly less than the others. They were designed to be a great street head, and thats exactly what they are.

Glad to hear this!!! I have one of Tony's ported FAST 90's and am about to add the AFR 224/228 cam and his massaged heads. I may even bump the cam a degree or two, its low end torque I want, peak number is less important to me.
