Default Best bang for my buck witch wayy to go?? experiance needed

I have a 99 Formula A4 with LTs,borla, 3500 tci stall,ls6 intake,slp mass aif,lid.

tha question is where to go next? I have roughly 1000 to spend +/-.

should i go with :

1. 243 castings stock from 02+ Zo6, keep stock cam. WILL I SEE INPROVMENT WITH STOCK CAM AND THESE HEADS??

2. keep my heads and do a cam spring swap. LABOR will be spendy

3. the easy way out 100-150 of Nitrous.

For 1 or 2 there will be a bit of labor to get either one done. More $$$

? If i put the 243s on will that be a big differance with what i have (bolt ons)
or are my heads(stock) good enough for a cam a spring swap.OR with the money available would the nitrous be the smartest.

I just want to get into the 11s and still keep some off the drivability.

I will have the car professionaly tuned after whatever intall

Your Help on this one will surely be appreciated. let me know what you guys think.

If anyone has a better idea with the money i have to work with please let me know

thanks

the duke

I'd do nothing.

Keep driving the 99 as you are, saving money from each paycheck. Meanwhile keep an eye on the classifieds and eBay for 243 auctions, and ****** up the first deal you think is worth it. Search around during your time of saving and read what other guys have done with their builds to figure out which cam is right for you. Once you have a good idea, start up another thread or finish this one asking if your combo suits the application well. Heads and camshaft purchases should go hand in hand, and with the online tech support available here on this site you don't have to pay someone to do the labor for you...read, view and perform the heads and cam swap yourself.

you have to many options going on, narrow it done some, you will get a lot of mixed feelings because different people do different things, so narrow it down to a couple options and go from there

you got the 853's right? a cam will be a good upgrade depending on how big you go, you can get too much cam but if heads are in the near future then make sure to match them properly, or just save up and do a head/cam combo, tsp has good ones

Buy a good nitrous kit with all the safety items, get some new mt Drag radials, you will be deep into the 11's with the flip of a switch and maintain the driveability of your stockish setup. You might have some money left. When that power gets boring do heads and cam and be well into the tens. Nitrous is the best bang for the buck!

Yeah save your money and do the heads and cam at the same time. You want them to match as much as possible.

Start with 100-125 and increase in small increments. I say small increments as in two or more bottles used for each jet sized, so that you get a feel for what they do and are able to monitor how the car handles the bottle.

I you don't plan on a custom cam down the road...get an off the shelf cam and do it yourself. I'm not a mehanic and I had no trouble ls1howto.com has everything you need and you can definitely get it done for under $1000.00. In fact if you get a used cam kit off the boards, you'll may have enough for the dyno tune too.
