Is this the cam your referring to from slp?

"Camshaft, LS1/LS6/LS2 Hydraulic Roller (Call for specs)
This is our most aggressive camshaft for LS1/LS2/LS6 applications. Designed to produce maximum power in big-cube stroker engines, it also works well in moderately to extensively modified stock-displacement applications. Includes detailed installation instructions and guidelines for proper degreeing.

NOTES: SLP High-Performance Valve Springs (Part #53002), Retainers (Part #53103), and PCM reprogramming strongly recommended. LS6 or ported LS1 heads recommended for optimum performance.

This camshaft has a 3 bolt core and will only work on a 3 bolt cam sprocket. 2007 and later LS2 engines have a single bolt core cam and cannot use this camshaft.

Camshaft Specs: Valve Lift Duration@.050
in: .590" 236º
ex: .590" 236º

Centerline - 112º
Lobe Separation - 112º"

It doesnt seem its the right type cam for a mostly stock ls1.

I would rather order from texas speed, ls1speed, mti, vaspeed, etc.. with one of their proven cams for all stock ls1's.

proven cams are 224/224, 228/228, etc... which most of them have one and work very good with stock ls1's.

Get yourself a cam from LG Motorsports bro. g5x1, x2, x3 version I or II, and x4. Don't even think about their g5xx cam. x1 is the mildest of the bunch but offers a nice well mannered increase in power without sacrificing drivability.

I wish I had a buck for every time I was asked that. No I don't receive a paycheck from LGM. I just push products that work. Besides I made more then a business connection when I hooked up with LGM. They are a bunch reallly good guys. Friends with everyone at the shop.

Lid and exhaust first or the cam is wasted money.

I'd say lid, ported TB and FULL exhaust. LS6 intake too if you didn't have it already. Plus when you get into a cam, be prepared to shell out cash for the cam, springs, timing chain, retainers, locks, and a tune.
