Default WTB New assembled LS1 block

I've made the decision to put a new block in place on my high mileage LS1. Just can't find nowhere to buy one already assembled. Help please

not from anything GM offers. if i understand correctly, you want the block, rods, pistons, rings, etc all put together so that you can bolt your heads, intake, oil pan, covers etc on? If so ask for a "short block." youll have to go aftermarket because as far as I know GM does not offer any kind of a short block to be a direct replacement.

Yes they do, go to SDPC >>> sponsor. There is GM remanufactured motors. But for the price IMO you could get a forged shortblock, I recommend LME.

So should I just buy a block and a rotating assembly, and have a machine put it together? Maybe just go ahead and get a 402 LS2

You buy a already assembled shortblock. 402 will require many other mods to run well.
What exactly do you want to do? Stock rebuilt or a cam shortblock assembly?
You can get an assembled, blueprinted shortblock witha degreed cam for less than 3500$

Well I was wanting to replace my ls1 (block crank, rods, pistons). Pretty much stock block, because my car has alot of miles on it, and I want to put heads and intake and possibly spray. I would hate to put all that stuff on my high mileage motor then it blow because it can't handle the power. I am gonna put a fast 90/90 with some trickflow 215 heads on it to get about 450-460 rwhp.

Then get qotations for shortblocks, I would stay stock cubes if you keep that cam. Forged with 2cc pistons and all the plugs installed (including the oil diverters). outright no exchange
You'll find them around 2700>3200

Not too sure what this is (2cc pistons and all the plugs installed (including the oil diverters). And I have no idea where to buy this. I've looked through almost all the sponsors

Instead of looking call a sponsor and ask questions if your serious about buying. There are quite a few that can take care of you. Start by using the alphabet if you dont know what to do. Spend a day on the phone and talk to people then go with who your comfortable with. Only way to go about it.

OR

I can coordinate the whole thing for you if you like, just pm me. I'll handle all the details and explain it all to you. Help you choose a builder. I am not an engine builder so I have no ulterior motive, I have no contracts to sell anyones motor in particular. I am a proffesional service coordinator that worked for a number of years at IBM. I will listen to your needs and come up with a plan with you that will suite your budget.

Plenty of sponsors here will be able to hook you up with a stout shortblock for under 3k, then you can sell your existing block to get some $$ back.

Search around over there>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I was looking earlier this year for a factory GM shortblock and found none to be available, I beleive the motor you are picturing out of SDPC is a longblock, not a shortblock. unless something has changed?

I just looked and couldnt find one. but if you can post a link to one from SDPC, I would be grateful! If the price is decent, Id really like to find a source for the factory shortblock instead of forged/forged 347's.

I'm replacing my 200K mile bolt on only LS1 now with a low mileage LS1 that I got for less than 1K. Then I purchased a new cam, oil pump, timing chain, hardened push rods, comp beehive springs, ARP rod bolts, used LS6 heads, and all the gaskets and bolts I'll need for the swap for about $1300. Should have a decent replacement motor with good power for less than $2500. With my LS6 heads, LS6 intake, comp 226/226 cam and full bolt on's I'm hoping for 400rwhp through an M6.

Set goals. Budget and power must be realistic.

I would take 9blancoSS's offer and have him help you find out exactly what you want and need in an engine and go from their. It makes sense to plan everything out as you will spend less money in the long run
