Default 23x's cam duration ?'s

I'm looking for a stronger cam (currently have 224) in the 23x's duration range and I'm wondering if it will be ok for a dd. I drive my car every day to work and need it to be streetable but stronger than the 224. Any ideas?

current possibilites:
tsp 233/239 .595/.603 112 lsa
tsp 232/234 .595/.598 112 lsa
tr 232/232 .612/.604 112 lsa -custom spec
ms3 237/242 .603/.609 113 lsa
f13 232/232 .642/.620 112 lsa
232/232 .595/.585 112 lsa
si5 231/237 .589/.595 112 lsa
231/237 .617/607 112 lsa

current setup:
224/224 .581/.581 112lsa
stage 2 cnc pp heads 59cc (gold springs-good to .650")
hooker lt's
tsp y pipe w/slp high flow cats
12 bolt rear w/3.73's and detroit true trac (made over 400 rwhp with 10 bolt)
ls7 clutch kit
lca's

Of those options for a DD I like the TR custom spec cam or the regular f13.

some of those cams probably won't clear the valves with those heads.

i say this cam
tsp 232/234 .595/.598 112 lsa
which should be the torquer v2

tuned well it should make great power and still drive nice. i have the V1 of that cam and it drives nice on the street other than some surge at one rpm...which is due to the poor tune.

i can motor along at 1300rpm with no problem, and it pulls hard all over the range.

my torque was nice considering how low my hp was....but the car is now making more than it dynoed...since it had some bugs and i've since upgraded a few things.

thanks guys..keep the thoughts coming

Which one would give me more power of the two:

torquer 2 and the tr spec'd cam?

I'm not necessarily looking for peak power but power under the curve.

I was told that if I get up in the 240's duration that I would start having ptv issues with my 59cc heads.

probably not enough of a difference to notice. looking at the profile, the TR one looks like its got more radical lobes...which could add a little power.

but honestly...even side by side you're talking few hp at most.

bigger factor will be the heads and intake. a FAST could do wonders on that setup

I just had a 228ish 232ish 112 lsa custom cam put in my car. They wouldn't tell me the exact specs. Anyway, it is totally drivable on the street with no issues so far after a nice tune. Good luck in your decision.

all those cams will definitely make more power than a 224 cam!! how bout a TR230 or MTI X1 too!! out of those i do like the SI5 231/237.

Like someone already said you need to check the PTV since you are running 59cc chambers. I will be running PP 243's milled down to 59cc on my stock bottom end. I am bringing the heads to FMS tomorrow so they can do a mock up with a F13 to make sure there is no PTV clearence issues.

So you know what my vote is.... F13 highlift!

i would probably go with the f13 if you dont have PVC issues with those heads. its been a good proven power maker, and a good driver too, or the SI5 if you have ptc clearance with the f13, i run a si4 in my daily driver and love the power curve and drives perfect.
but honestly not too much differance in all of them, i would take out the first cam on the list and the ms3 out(not a MS fan) and choose the best deal that you can get out of the others as they are all good and very close.

I have no problem dd'ing my 233/239 112lsa cam. I have stock gears as well. It will surge a little under 1500 rpms but I dont really drive this car like that anyway.

That f13 has some awful high lift for a dd. You'll be changing springs pretty often.

IIRC Speed Inc had great results with the SI5 (might have been the SI4 tho).

well let me know if you can run that high lift f13. I want something that will net me more power but yet it needs to be something that I can drive EVERY DAY. I really didn't want a ms3 but a few people had mentioned it so I put it on the list.

There are so many darn options but yet not really beause I'm limited due to the cc's of my heads. Well keep the opinions coming please. Thanks
