how high would you spin a stock shortblock poll

We routinely spin stock shortblocks to 6800. You have wayyyy too much cam to be squemish now...
Seriously, as long as you let the engine warm up and I mean get the oil above 130 at least before you beat the snot out of it, you should be fine below 7K. I usually put in ARP pro series if I want extra insurance or to go 7200...
Why is it going to cost $750 for rod bolts? sorry if this was answered already, I didn't read the whole thread.
Thanks,
Shane

I was told to estimate the rod bolts at $150 and then the shop wants $600 in additional labor costs for the added work of removing the engine and putting it back in. Yes they are aware of how the rod bolts can be done by lowering the K member but they said if they are gonna do it then they would rather pull the motor and not mess with the alignment.

The labor makes total sense. We sell the rod bolts for $99 I believe. I will not do it in the car either...
Only on my back at the track with the car on jack stands...

That's what I'm thinking.
Excellent info. Thank you.

Then a few people felt the need to come in and give me ****. Why? I have no idea. They must have had nothing better to do.

Yeah I know
But lets be honest. They are only doing it for that price because I bought every part from them and all ready have a lot of labor fees on the original order for the heads, cam, intake, fuel pump and even the roll bar. It's easy to justify cutting a break with someone you're all ready making a lot of money on and know will be back later for more.

My car has 413whp with 109,000 mile and my Rev is at 6800 and been that way for 3 years. My best E/T is 11/6@118mph with boltons and TSP 231/237 cam. Stock rod bolts do not need to go any higher than 6800. I dog my car every day and he the rev limiter every now and then.
