Is this the oil drain plug?
Yeah you probably think I am retarded, but I just want to make 100% sure that I am unscrewing the right thing

I'll give you this, you're pretty bold to be asking such a question. Usually those who don't know where the drain plug is, don't change their own oil, let alone drive such a bitchin' car. And yes, that is the drain plug. Don't forget to replace your kenuter valve too.

LOL, actually I am installing my long tube headers right now, and I think I am doing an excellent job.....
1st time changing the oil also, I am new at this stuff, I am only 22.
Someone has to start somewhere I guess, and I consider you guys my father when it comes to playing around with the car.
So thanks for the help!
BTW I bet this thread will get a lot of hits because I don't think I am the only one who doesn't know where the drain plug is.

I agree with Viper and Smoke Ford. Everyone's got to start somewhere. Just wait though, one day you'll be up to your elbows in engine while puttin in a new cam, and one of these smart asses on the board will drag this post up from the dead. :p

Hey BTW I am trying my damn hardest to pull that drain plug off, Pontiac must of tightened it on with a air tool or something, because I am putting all my weight into it (200lbs, though I am on my back) but it is not budging....I am spraying WD40 all over, hopefully after an hour or so it begins to weaken so I can get moving on taking my passenger side header off

Tug, pull, tug, pull..........get yourself a decent torq wrench.
Good luck, and congratulations on starting to do some of this yourself. I installed my own lowering springs this year, and was very proud of myself. You feel great accomplishment doing this stuff yourself, not to mention the $$$ you save.
