Default Rocker Arm Install..?

I was wondering if there was any way to keep the rocker arms from twisting as you tighten them down or if it was just something that is going to happen?

I hold em steady with one hand and use a 1/4" air ratchet in the other. Then torque to spec. There is a sequence and procedure you are supposed to use. Find TDC. Tighten certain ones , spin the crank 360 and torgue the others. I wonder how many people on here actually follow it. Some local guys watching me do it the other day were sayin they have never heard of that and they have done cams before

Good luck.

The above is the procedure I followed with my recently rebuilt stockers by Harland Sharp. I held them with one hand while tightening with the other, but once you get to a certain point, they kinda just straighten themselves out.

If you're looking down on the head, it is the one that goes above the exhaust port; it will line up with where the header attaches to the head (the primary tube).

What is wrong with that?

If you do it that way, those rockers on the cam lobe (partially or fully open) have incorrect bolt preload, even worse with stiffer aftermarket springs. You also risk aluminum thread damage.

I should clarify, I meant bolt preload not lifter preload. I fixed the original post to clarify.
