But do I need longer ones due to a smaller circle base cam?

I normally do, I have an adjustable pushrod to check length, but would like to do this quickly and there isn't any shops around that keep these in stock... The tr224 is a very common setup.

7.425 if you want the valves to stay open. Another case of miss information. 7.4 is a longer than stock pushrod for the smaller base circle of aftermarket cams.

The TR224 is probably the most common cam out there. 7.4 is what you need. Once you mill heads, checking pushrod length is necessary.

I ran 7.4's with stock heads, and I run 7.35's with my AFR 205's milled 0.030 and a stock GM gasket. I did check the pushrod length and valve lash. (actually Slowhawk did with me)

Davered00SS, you are wrong. With the smaller base circle of the TR224 you can run 7.425 pushrods.
