I hope you're not planning on that being a pump gas motor. You'll still have to mill the hell out of 5.3L heads to get to 12.5:1. Then you'll have to watch out because any decent cam wont fit without cutting the pistons.

i am going with a forged bottm endwith higher compression pistons, so i won have to mill the hell out of them, and i know its not a pump gas motor.
question is, is the combustion chamber any different so its easier to get the higher compression? should i just go with 5.3's or mill my already ported 5.7's

Keep the heads now and use the pistons to get you to the CR that you want. The only reason people mill heads is because its cheaper than buying a whole new short block when they dont need it, but since your already taking care of that just get a set of domed pistons.
